Shirley R. Sheets, 78, of Anderson, passed away on January 4, 2014 at her residence.
She was born on June 3, 1935 in Decatur, Illinois and resided most of her life in Anderson. Shirley graduated from Anderson High School, Class of ’53, and attended Anderson Business College. She was a life-long Homemaker. She was a member of a bowling league, and a Euchre club for many years. Shirley enjoyed crafting, playing golf, and watching sports, especially the Cubs. She loved wintering in Florida, loved her pets, and especially loved playing cards with her grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her loving spouse, whom she married, September 13, 1953, David Sheets, three sons, David Chris Sheets Jr., Brian Carol Sheets, and James Sonya Carr Sheets all of Anderson; grandchildren, Katie Sheets, Daniel Sheets, Jessica Aaron Miller, Joshua Melissa Day, and Kris Day; great grandchildren, Kylie Day, Kaleb Day, Kelsey Day, Kody Day, Koltin Day, Julia Miller, and Aidan Miller\; and lifelong friends, Shirley Beattie and Jean Dearing.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Pollock Redding and her father, Ward Redding.
