Shirley Crawford Odom, 81, of Turin, Georgia was ushered into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, March 30, 2019. Shirley was born on August 27, 1937 in Spalding County, Georgia and was the youngest of three children born to the late Hoyt and Alva Crawford. She was raised in Fairburn, Georgia and played basketball for Campbell High School, where she graduated in 1956. Shirley married her husband, William, on November 26, 1960. She and William moved to Kansas City, Missouri where William pursued his career with Hudson and Odom Tire Company. After nineteen years, they moved back to Georgia, built their home, and became members of the Turin Baptist Church. Shirley was a loving mother and grandmother to her two daughters and five grandchildren. Affectionately known as “Buddy” to many, she was a gentle soul who loved to tell a good story. She enjoyed filling her home with family and friends and brought lots of laughter and good food to every meal.

Shirley is survived by her husband, William Loyd Odom; daughters, Kelly Bomba (Ed) and Kim Stephens (Pat); grandchildren, Brittany Bomba, James Bomba, Lisa Degler (Clay), Lynn Stephens, and Logan Stephens; brother, Douglas Crawford (Francis); sister, Jeanette Privett; and many nieces and nephews.
