Shirley was born October 29, 1947 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to William and Ruby (Herrod) Martin. She attended local schools, graduating from high school in Murfreesboro.
She married Leonard McNee at Sewart Air Force Base on July 1 1967, to their union two sons, Russell and Craig were born. Their marriage ended in 1986.
During her career Shirley held many clerical positons. She was an asset to the professionals she worked with; Grogan Robinson Lumber, Coca-Cola West, Cogswell Agency, Farmers Union Oil Company, and Big Sky Bus Lines.
Shirley relished being active in her boys’ pursuits; she was active in the PTA and volunteered her time to enhance their experience in the Cub Scouts. Shirley was also involved with the VFW, a member of the Eagles and volunteered with the Great Falls Senior Center.
In her free time she loved to be active- roller skating, bowling, and camping! She was a natural homemaker and caretaker of those she loved and had many animal companions over the years. She will be greatly missed by her birds, Blazer and Rio.
Shirley leaves in our care, her loving family; sons, Russell McNee and Craig (Amanda) McNee; sister-in-law Janice (Dene) Porter; her grandchildren, Devan and Cody. She is also survived by her former husband Leonard (Linda) McNee,
She was preceded in death by her brother William “Bubba” Martin.
