Shirley May (Thompson) Schweickert, 85, of LaSalle, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Schweickert was born on June 1, 1931 in Kewanee to George and Edna (Patterson) Thompson. She married George W. Schweickert on September 6, 1969 at St. Joseph’s Church in Peru.
Shirley was a homemaker. She loved to travel, sew, knit and especially spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband, George of LaSalle; one daughter, Carrie (Steve) Margis of LaSalle and one son, George C. Schweickert of LaSalle; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, LaVonne Gilman.
