GRANGEVILLE: Shirley Marie (Marshall) Cox, 74 of Grangeville passed away at her family home Tuesday, July 24, 2018 around 8:00 am after being ill for some time. Shirley was born April 2, 1944 in Salmon, Idaho to Mr. and Mrs. Elza Marshall. She lived in Salmon and Mullan, Idaho until 1957 when her family moved to Harpster and later Clearwater, Idaho. She graduated from CVHS in 1962 as Salutatorian. After graduation she went to work for First Security Bank in Grangeville as a bookkeeper. Working through name changes, merges, etcв?¦..she became head lady. She retired for the third and final time after 34 years.
Shirley met the love of her life, Darrel Cox in the 7th grade. They dated all through high school and were married May 9, 1964. They had one son, Alan. Alan had Muscular Dystrophy and died in 1983.
