She graduated from Galesburg High School and Cottage School of Nursing as RN.  She remained good friends with several from her nursing classes and they were very dear to her to the end.  She worked as a nurse for Dr. Doores and later for Cottage hospital in the nursery for many years.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and aunt.  She was a seamstress and wonderful cookie baker making every kind of Christmas cookie and wrapping each one in cling wrap and giving large plates of them away. She photographed and took movies of all the family children.  She cared for others more than herself, always nearby in times of need.  She was of Baptist faith.
