Shirley Marie Spanka Maggi, 96, of Port St. Lucie, passed away on November 23, 2021.
Shirley was born in Detroit, Michigan, and moved to Florida in 1959. Originally living in Deerfield, Shirley then moved to Pompano Beach before relocating to Port St. Lucie Fl. Prior to retirement, she worked as a typist in Detroit & retired on March 6, 1989, as a bookkeeper working for the City of Deerfield Beach for 26 years.
Shirley was a devoted Catholic, wife, and mother. She was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader, very patriotic, and volunteered regularly at her church.
Shirley is survived by eldest sister Dolores Pylak who just turned 99. Her children Kathleen Ann (Maggi) Bragg, (Kathleen passed on November 28, 2021), Arthur Joseph Maggi (Marlene), Bernard John Maggi (Kathleen), James Allen Maggi (Kathleen), Patricia Marie (Maggi) Leach (Richard), and Suzanne Lynn (Maggi) DeBaugh (William).Grandchildren Theresa, Arthur II, Stephanie, Bernard ll, Stephen, Joshua, James ll, Molly, Holly, Rachel, Evan, Rebekah, Michael, David, Sarah, and Christopher. Great Grandchildren Zelda, Zack, Nikolas, Olivia, Sean, Ryleigh, Lily, James, Ryan, Bree, Bo, Madison, Silas, Emerson, Corbin, and Colton.
She was preceded in death by her parents John Frank Spanka and Mabel (Legeret) Spanka, husband Joseph Bernard Maggi, son Stephen Anthony Maggi, daughter Mary Louise Maggi, granddaughter Lisa Ann Bragg and siblings Geraldine, Vivian & Johnny.
