Shirley M. (Brown) Duncan, 76, of Bloomfield Hills, MI, died Tuesday, February 3, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Streator. She is from the Boyle and Griffith families of Lostant that have been in Illinois for 6 generations. Shirley was born on May 14, 1932, in Detroit to Frank R. and Mildred (Griffith) Brown.
She was a graduate of Michigan State University where she met Dean and married him on May 2, 1953. She was strongly connected to her community including starting a nursery school and Deacon at her local church, president of the PTA, and active in Goodwill.
Shirley is survived by her husband, and three daughters, Trina C. Duncan (Stuart W. Rose, Ph.D.) of Poquoson, VA, Michele S. Jones (Richard Rassey) of Clinton Twp., MI, and Heather D. (Mark) Simpson of Park Ridge, IL, and 2 grandchildren, Evan and Clark Simpson.
