Shirley L. Okerblom, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Robert A. Okerblom, passed away suddenly Tuesday, July 11, 2017. Born in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Strajk, she was raised in Stratford and had been a Fairfield resident for over 50 years. Shirley was currently employed as the executive secretary in the instructional office at Fairfield public schools since 1974 and also worked in the Continuing Education Program. She also worked for the Fairfield and Pequot Libraries, and earlier in her life, worked at Mechanics and Farmers Savings Bank and as a crossing guard at Riverfield School.
