Shirley Louise Myers, 80, of Brooklyn Heights, died of complications from Alzheimer’s on May 23, 2015 at her home at Assisted Living Well Compassionate Care in Millersville, MD. She was born on Dec. 3, 1934 in Brownsville, PA, to her parents, John and Alice Christopher.
She attended Southern High School and Towson State Teachers College. She worked for Maryland Vehicle Administration and then University of Maryland Law School, of which time she retired in 1997. She moved from Brooklyn Heights to Piney Orchard in Odenton and then to Camden-Wyoming, Delaware in 2006. She was a Past Worthy Matron of Brooklyn Chapter No. 81 Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed dancing, exercising, reading, ceramics and floral arranging and travel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice Christopher and brothers, Robert and William Christopher.
She is survived by her two children, her daughter, Sharon Stratton and husband, Edward Stratton of Severn, and her son, Lawrence (Chris) Myers of Sydney, Australia; two grandchildren, Andrew Stratton of Baltimore and Holly Holman of Pasadena.
