Shirley L. (Piano) Harvey, 85, of Peru, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at the LaSalle County Nursing Home, Ottawa. Mrs. Harvey was born April 20, 1929, in Dalzell to John and Clara (Wood) Piano.
She married Kenneth W. Harvey on March 27, 1955, at First Congregational Church in Peru. She was a graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School, Class of 1946. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Peru. She was employed by Illinois Bell and was a homemaker. Above all, she was a wonderful caregiver, caring for both her husband and mother when they were ill and helping to care for her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon (Kevin) Pantenburg of Oglesby; three grandchildren, Michelle (Chris) Pries, Jamie (Nick) Jaegle, and Mitch (Abby) Pantenburg; six great-grandchildren, Hayden, Brady, Grant, Will, Braxton, and Briar; two brothers, Don (Margaret) Piano of Peru and Jack Piano of Oglesby; two sisters-in-law, Darlene and Lois Harvey and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth on January 22, 1994.
