The daughter of the late James Wood and Audrey Lois (Grice)Wood, Shirley, was born on March 10, 1948 in Ackerman, Mississippi and went to be with her Heavenly Father on September 15, 2019.
Shirley grew up in and attended school Ackerman, Mississippi until moving to Ardmore in 1955. She and David Allen Carroll were married on July 20, 1991 in Ardmore and were married for twenty-eight years, when David preceded her in death on August 5, 2019. Shirley had worked in both Lu-ken and Woodview Nursing Home in the laundry department. She attended the Calvary Christian Church of God, where she enjoyed singing. In her leisure time Shirley enjoyed caring for animals and collecting antiques.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter, Carie Dunnick; sons, James and Joseph Neasbitt; brothers, Donald Wood and wife, Patricia, Larry Wood, Roger Wood and Victor aka Richard Hardcastle; sisters, Sharon Cranmore, Debra Ellison, Evelyn Jones, Amelia Lois and Linda Jewel. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, infant son, Christopher Neasbitt; brothers, Willy James Wood, Johnny Wayne Wood and George Earl Wood.
