Shirley Janet Kamminga, age 90, of DeMotte passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Oak Grove Retirement Village.
Shirley was born in Lansing, Illinois on July 13, 1926 the daughter of Clarence and Alyce (Seeman) Bultema. She attended Lansing Christian School.
Shirley married the love of her life, Curtis Kamminga on Valentine’s Day in 1945. He preceded her in death on September 18, 1998.
Shirley was a homemaker and mother to three children. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church of DeMotte. She enjoyed playing golf and even celebrated making a hole-in-one once while playing in Florida. She also enjoyed bowling, shopping, feeding and caring for her family.
Shirley is survived by her children: Beverly Styck of DeMotte, IN; Donna (Dave) Schoonveld of DeMotte, IN; Lyle (Lois) Kamminga of Wheatfield, IN; 9 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; siblings: Clarence Bultema, Jr. of Lombard, IL; Harvey (Jean) Bultema of DeMotte, IN; Marlene Bultema of Grand Rapids, MI; many nieces & nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, and sister.
