Those left to honor Shirley’s memory are her husband, Chuck of Newton; two daughters, Vicki (Curt) James, and Susan (Bill) Wright; son, Tim Hutchins, all of Newton; her two grandchildren, Meagan James and Jeff James, both of Newton; three great-grandchildren, Karysa, Keegan and Jaxson; her two brothers, Donald “Bud” Halsey of Urbandale, Iowa, and Robert “Bobby” (Ulla) Halsey of West Virginia; her sister, Lillian “Lil” De Jong of Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Evelyn A. (Sterner) Halsey; and two children.
Shirley was a hostess and manager of the Cueva De Faugo Steak House at the Terrace Inn I Newton.
Shirley loved having her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with her. She also enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, listening to music, especially Frank Sinatra, going shopping and old movies.
