Shirley Louise Gonzalez, nee Tibbs, 48, of Fairview Heights, IL passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014, at her residence. Shirley was born on July 25, 1966, in Monroe, LA to Joe and Lucille Tibbs Sr., nee Sillers.
She retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant, holding the position of a paralegal, was a graduate of the University of Phoenix, was currently attending Covenant Theological Seminary, and was a minister in training at New Life in Christ Church. Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Joe Andrew Tibbs, Sr., and sister, Linda Sillers.
Shirley is survived by her husband: Robert Gonzalez Sr., 4 children; Jimina Lucille & Fred Whittle of Cincinnati OH, Brittney Ashley Gonzalez of Fairview Heights, IL, Robert Andrew Gonzalez Jr. of Fairview Heights, IL, and Nathaniel Thomas Gonzalez of Fairview Heights, IL; mother, Lucille Tibbs, nee Sillers; 4 sisters, Joann Sillers of Berkley, CA, Brenda & Louie Stephens of Anchorage, AK, Juanita Sillers of Monroe, LA, and Emma Jean Sillers of Monroe LA; 4 brothers, Willie & Chynel of Monroe, LA, Joseph & Kelly Sillers of Arlington, TX, Joe Andrew Tibbs, Jr. of Dallas, TX, and James Tibbs of Dallas, TX; 3 grandchildren, Mikayliah L’Nea Lumpkin, Ariana Latrice Whittle, Amierra Alexandria Ford; 2 aunts, Pam Singleton and Lula Mae Sillers; and uncle, Leo Wilson, all of Monroe, LA.
