With her husband Herman and her family by her bedside, Heaven called to welcome home another angel, Shirley Anderson Teinert, of Oakwood, Texas.  Shirley’s life’s journey ended peacefully at home on Monday, the 26th day of September 2022, at the age of 84.  She was born in Mount Herman, Oklahoma, on the 17th day of October 1937, to parents Raymond Mac Anderson and Hattie Rebecca Howard Anderson.

Shirley loved her family, her friends, and most importantly the Lord. She was a faithful Christian and a member of the First Christian Church in Oakwood.  She was a lifelong volunteer, devoting much of her time to serving others. She knew her mission in life was to help other people and there was nothing that could stand in her way to help someone in need.  Shirley was also a long-term volunteer at the Oakwood Food Bank and a member of the E.E.O. Club.  Along with other members of the community, she started the Bible Project in May of 2018, a multi-denominational Bible study in Oakwood, Texas, a program that she held close to her heart.

Shirley was a teacher and a loving wife and mother to her children, devoting her earlier days to staying home and taking care of her family.  Once her children were adults, she worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in the personnel department.  Shirley battled cancer three times throughout her life.  Each time she fought it courageously and helped other cancer patients in their fight as well.  She never complained about anything and always wore a smile on her face.  To call her an angel would be an understatement, and she will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Hattie Anderson; brother, William David Anderson; and sisters, Alma Marie “Babe” Johnson, and Estelle McAtee.

Shirley leaves behind her husband Herman B. Teinert; daughter, Cheryl Joy Eschenfelder and husband John, of Huntsville, Texas; son, Mark Teinert and wife Alison, of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Rachel Anderson Swart, of Palestine, Texas; brother, Doyle Anderson and wife Sherrie, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; and her beloved grandchildren, Katherine Pitcairn and husband Max, Aaron Teinert and wife Reagan, and Rebecca Teinert.  She also leaves behind numerous other family members and friends.
