Shirley Mae Farrow, 84 of Caldwell, formerly of Meridian, Idaho, passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 at a Caldwell care facility.

Beginning in 1951, Shirley gave birth to four children Kevin, Shawnee, Susan and concluding with Phyllis in 1956. As they grew they became a big help to their mom on the farm (mostly). In 1966 the family moved closer to Boise for a year, leaving behind all the farm animals. Then in the fall of 1967 they moved into the city of Meridian and into the first and last home Shirley could call her own, where they lived for the next 40 years. During these years Shirley had time for sewing, reading, and crafting with Macrame. She especially loved birds and dogs and had several over the years. As the years went by her children all married and moved away but then came grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she was eager received photos of and to hear news about.  For the past 10 years, Shirley’s home has been in Caldwell where she and Bill moved in 2006, to be closer to daughter, Susie so she could be of help in their waning years. Bill passed away in September 2009, a few months after their 60th wedding anniversary.

She is survived by her children: son Kevin (Anita) Farrow of Sierra vista, AZ; daughter Shawnee (Sonny) Benton of Pueblo CO; daughter Susan (Terry) Maybon of Caldwell; daughter Phyllis (Andy) Barnes of Genesee, ID; 10 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Sharon Burkhart.
