Shirley Wade Story was born September 4, 1935, in the Sargent community of Coweta County. Her parents were Willie Bill Wade and Effie Jewell Mobley Wade.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Story and her grandson Josh Story. Shirley was a well-known figure in Newnan as she and her husband both drove school buses for the school system. Road trips were a particular favorite of theirs and they logged many miles carrying students for athletic and band events. Shirley truly enjoyed her 34 years working with school students. Shirley died July 11, 2016, at Gordon Hospital in Calhoun.
She is survived by her sons Sam Story and Charles Story; a sister, Sybil Ross, and a brother, Sid Wade. She has six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
