Shirley Elaine Marler, age 74, of 37 Temple Avenue, Fort Walton Beach, FL, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Destin Health Care and Rehab Center.

       Shirley was born January 1, 1935 in Elgin, Nebraska, a daughter of the late Joe and Florence Carnes Baker.

       Shirley was a full time homemaker and enjoyed music, sewing and embroidery.

        Her family remembers her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

        Preceding her in death are her parents, 2 brothers: Merle Baker and Everett Baker.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years: Sylvan Tilden Marler of Fort Walton Beach, 2 daughters: Jo Bilby and her husband Ken of Fort Walton Beach, and Mary Mills and her husband Anthony of Fort Walton Beach, 3 grandsons: Jonathan Bilby and his wife Elisabeth of Navarre and their children Lauren Bilby, Lucy Bilby, Aliza Bilby and Audrey Bilby all of Navarre, David Bilby and his wife Tara of Deerfield, Illinois and their children Benjamin Bilby, Brantley Bilby, Brian Bilby, and Annabelle Bilby, all of Deerfield and Michael Bilby and his fiancée, Kristina Erickson of Astoria, New York.

2 brothers: Roger Baker and his wife Joan of Neligh, Nebraska and Larry Baker and his wife Carolyn of Neligh, Nebraska, 2 sisters-in-law Myla and  Jacque, both of Neligh, Nebraska,  and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Gentiva Home Health, to Destin Health Care and Rehab Center and Covenant Hospice for the loving care given Shirley.
