Shirley Coates, age 77, of Ware, MA formerly of Orange, CT, beloved wife of the late Benjamin DiMiero passed away on Friday March 9, in Wilbraham, MA. Born on February 17, 1935, New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Howard T. and Mary Evans Coates. Shirley is the retired owner of Gembright Jewelers in East Haven. While residing in Orange she was a member of the Orange Women’s Club, the Orange PTA and was former President of the New Comers Club.
Shirley is survived by her son Brad DiMiero and his wife Ann of MA; five grandchildren Benjamin, David, Annaliese, Caitlin and Taylor; seven siblings Joan Squeglia, Howard Coates, Carol Yule, Barbara Trasacco, Richard Sundmacker, Thomas Sundmacker and Edith Neely. In addition to her husband Benjamin she is predeceased by her son Mark and siblings Lillian Rooks and David Sundmacker.
