Shirley Catherine Bailey Younger (nee Miller) of Waldorf, MD
Sadly, Shirley Catherine Bailey Younger (nee Miller) of Waldorf died on July 15, 2015 at University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata. She was 84. She was born on September 23, 1930 in Ellicott City, MD to Edwin and Nettie Miller.
She graduated from Lackey High School in 1948, and was married to Earl R. Bailey in 1954. Together they had three children, Rodney, Ronald and Robert. They made their home in Indian Head, where Shirley worked at Ely’s Department Store and at what was then, Maryland National Bank in Indian Head.
After Earl’s passing in 1977, she met William E. Younger, whom she married in 1982. Soon after they were married, they settled in Estes Park, CO. They moved back to Charles County in 2011, and have been residing at Morningside House in Waldorf.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Stanton Miller and Gervil (Tony) Miller, and her son, Robert Bailey. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, William Younger; sons, Rodney Bailey (Deborah) of Indian Head and Ronald Bailey of Dameron; step-daughter, Lisa Younger of Annapolis; daughter-in-law, Gwen Bailey of Indian Head; sister-in-law, Kathleen Miller of Reno, NV; grandchildren, Amy Whitaker (Kirby) of Waldorf, Michael Bailey (Kimberly) of Bryans Road, Kevin Grinder (Kristi) of Chestertown, Susan Zynel (Jeffrey) of Smithsburg, Kelly Bailey of Indian Head and Tabatha Elder (Matthew) of Vienna, WV. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
