Shirley C. Disteso, 86 of Berkeley Twsp., NJ passed peacefully on Wednesday March 9, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ with her family by her side.
Shirley was born in Jersey City, NJ and lived in Woodbridge, NJ before moving to Berkeley Twsp., NJ 20 years ago. She worked as an administrative assistant for the Teamsters Benefits in Union City, NJ. Shirley was the Matriarch of her family and enjoyed baking and cooking. If you ever tasted her meatballs you were a very lucky person she was a kind and giving person.
Shirley is predeceased by her parents Theresa and James Dechert, her husband Joseph Disteso and also her brother Anthony LaTempa.
Surviving is her son Joseph Disteso of Berkeley Twsp., NJ; her sisters Annette Taylor of Seaside Heights, NJ and Peggy Verlangieri and her husband Basil of Leland, NC and numerous nieces and nephews who adored her.
