Shirley Anne Kyzer Barley, 81, of Titusville, Florida, peacefully passed on March 10 in Cape Canaveral surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born in New Smyrna Beach on March 8, 1935 to Ernest Ray Kyzer and Helen Scobie Kyzer and grew up on Riverside Drive where she lived with her parents, her late brother Ernest Ray, her sister Sandra Kay and her grandparents George William, Jr. and Grace Reed Scobie. Shirley graduated from Titusville High School in 1953 and attended the University of Florida where she met George McKim Barley, Jr. They married in 1955 and had three daughters, Lauren Diane, Catherine Elizabeth and Mary Susan. Shirley’s devotion to God was expressed through the love she gave to her three daughters, as well as her dedication to her grandchildren Ryan Micheal, Stephen David , Paul Randall, Grace Aisling, Emily Elizabeth and Hannah McKim. After the birth of her grandchildren, she was known by all as Mimi. On March 3, 2015, her final blessing was the arrival of her great grandson, Gabriel Maxwell. Mimi also expressed her devotion to God through her missionary work in Israel and the Middle East. She had many loving friends in the Brevard County area that shared her passion of spreading God’s love and grace. They met often to pray and tend to those in need. She loved cooking for her family, gardening, especially tending to her orchids, and had a great love for her dog Pupster, adopted during one of her trips to Israel. Her experience with and love of Pupster inspired her to write and publish a book. She is survived by her sister Sandra Kay, her daughters Lauren, Catherine, Mary, and her grandchildren Stephen, Paul, Grace, Emily, Hannah and her great grandson Gabe.
