Shirley Ann Mettler, 79, of Galesburg, formerly of Quincy, died at 7:05 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2016 at Marigold Health Care and Rehab, Galesburg. Shirley was born in Quincy, one of twelve children to Raymond and Dorothy Sherman Hainline. Shirley is survived by four daughters, Mary Mitchell and Cheryl Luthin both of Quincy, Deborah Hardin of Washburn, and Chris Foster of Galesburg. She was blessed with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Terry Nebe; and two daughters, Jackie Dunham and Julie Johnson.
Shirley is also survived by sisters, Ruby Shaffer and Karen Mutchler both of Quincy, Bonnie (Gary) Rankins of Coatsburg; and brothers, Jerry (Karen) Hainline of Quincy and James Hainline. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Stroud and Betty Hainline both of Quincy; and brothers, Bill Hainline, Michael Hainline, Raymond Hainline, and Larry Seipker. Shirley worked for many years on the line at Admiral in Galesburg. She enjoyed gardening in her yard. She enjoyed people from all walks of life and never knew a stranger. She enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley and eating catfish when she visited Quincy.
