Shirley Ann Lyons, 75, of Virginia, IL died Friday, July 10, 2009, at the Walker Nursing Home in Virginia. She was born April 30, 1934, in Philadelphia, IL; the daughter of Clarence Robert and Edith Lela Black Yancy.
She married Robert Lyons on November 14, 1953, in Virginia and he survives.
She is also survived by a son, Robert Sherman Lyons (wife, Debra) of Virginia; a daughter, Tena Marie Michels (husband, Sidney Wayne) of Ellery; a granddaughter, Crystal Michels of Ellery; two brothers, Charles Yancy of Auburn and Oliver Yancy of Lovelock, NV; three sisters, Dorothy Woods of Jacksonville, Lela Tenbush of Springfield, and Helen Anderson of Medford, OR; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and eight brothers and sisters.
Mr. Lyons was a graduate of Virginia High School and was employed in the laboratory at Passavant Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Virginia Church of Christ.
