Shirley Ann Kiger,78 of Thornton, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born February 22, 1943, daughter of the late Roy Dayton and Hannah Moats DeMoss. Shirley is survived by her husband William “Butch” Kiger. They were united in marriage on September 10, 1966 spending fifty- five wonderful years together.
Shirley graduated from Grafton High School, Class of 1961. She was co-owner of Kiger Custom Meats with her husband working side by side for over twenty years. Shirley liked to always be busy, working in the garden, canning the produce she raised, crocheting, and even liked going fishing and traveling. She loved the time she spent with her family and friends, and loved the special times making memories with her children and grandchildren. She thought her family was her greatest blessing.
Shirley is survived by one son, William “Billy” Kiger, Thornton, three daughters, Pam Myers, Kingwood, Teresa Cole (Will), OH, and Joyce Smith, Kingmont, twelve grandchildren, Hannah, Kathleen Jared, Justine, Jaymi, Faith, Mark, Kisle, Tori, Janele, Josh and Jessica, twenty five great grandchildren, one brother, Carl DeMoss (Kathy), FL,
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by one grandson, Justin Smith, nine sisters and brothers, Eleanor Jean Anderson, Barbara Sue Hendrickson, Kathleen Tucker, Maxine Tucker, Ronald DeMoss, Freda White, Ruth McCartney, and Rosa Shaffer
