Shirley Ann Clark, 73, of Emlenton, went to be with the Lord at 1:45 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009, following a brief illness.

Mrs. Clark was born on October 25, 1935 in Lamartine, Salem Twp., Clarion County. She was the daughter of Samuel J .and Margaret Cooper Edinger.

Mrs. Clark was a 1953 graduate of St. Petersburg Richland High School. She returned to Clarion State College at the age of 36 and graduated as Salutatorian of her class. She was employed by the Allegheny -Clarion Valley School District as an elementary school teacher in Emlenton until her retirement in 1982.

Mrs. Clark was married on April 8, 1955 to John D. “Jack” Clark. He survives.

Mrs. Clark and her husband enjoyed traveling. She also enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and her best friends, Trink Bennetti of Knox, and Charlotte Lutz of Butler.

She is survived by two sons, Mitchell D. Clark of Biloxi, Miss., and Timothy J. Clark and his wife Michelle of San Diego. Five grandchildren survive, Amanda, Ashley, Andrew, Casey, and Corey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Lowers Confer and a brother, Joseph George Edinger.
