Shirley Ann Britton, 77, of Alexandria, passed away on December 6, 2012 at Community Hospital Anderson. She was born on April 8, 1935 in Elwood, and resided most of her life in Madison County.
Shirley graduated from Wendell Wilkie High School, and she was a homemaker.
Shirley is survived by her loving daughter, Marty Courtney of Anderson, brother, Chuck Leakey of Elwood, grandson, Jesse Courtney of Indianapolis, granddaughter, Taylor Courtney of Anderson, grandson, Chris Courtney of Anderson, niece, Cathy Kim Harmon of Elwood, niece, Kelly Herrick, father of her grandchildren, Don Courtney of Anderson, and caring neighbors, Carol Whitinger, and Dave Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry Lee Britton, and her parents, Mabel and Lyman Richard Leakey.
