Shirley Ann Atkins McDaniel, 72, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 in Melbourne Florida. Shirley was a life long resident of New Market, TN and lived on Bales Road for almost 50 years. In 2018, she and her loving husband, Jerry, moved to Florida to be near their daughter, Tina.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jerry Franklin McDaniel, and their 3 children: Jerry Wayne, FL; Tina (Clevinger), and her husband Edwin, FL; Tommy and his wife Leslie, TN; 4 grandchildren: Logan Whitt, Casi McDaniel, Shane Hux, and Mary Grace Lane; 2 Great-grandchildren: Jacob Levi Whitt and Tucker Jamison Whitt; Sister, Pansy Atkins Lane, Bulls Gap and Brother, Frank Atkins, San Antonio, Tx.
She was predeceased by sisters, Arlene Miller and Mable Roach, as well as her parents, Anna Bell (Russell) and Arlie Atkins of Grainger County, TN.
Shirley lived and loved a wonderful 72 years. She was married to the love of her life, Jerry, in 1966 and they spent a blissful 54 years together in love.
Shirley’s family would like to personally thank all of the dear friends who have loved and supported her over the years. A special thank you to Kelly McDaniel, Margaret Lyle, Eugene Kivett, and Howard and Loretta Fox and so many more. Shirley was blessed to have such incredible people in her life. There are no words to express how much she loved us and how much we loved her.
Shirley, a wife, a mother, a friend, peaceful and graceful went to the Lord. Her suffering with COPD has ended and her beautiful smile and her loving face will endure forever in our memory.
RIP Momma: We love you beyond measure and to Heaven and back.
