Shirley A. Janey, 76, of Elkhart, passed away at the Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, April 29.
She was born in Fortville on Dec. 13, 1938, to the late Avery and Helen (Skirvin) Current. On Feb. 18, 1961, she married James R. “Jim” Janey in Elkhart, where he passed away in 2008.
Surviving are her daughters, Linda (Gary) Ellsworth of Knoxville, Tenn., Lora (Ralf) Schaper of Rockville, and Shayla (Andrew) Thomas of Elkhart; her sister, Virginia Horvath of South Bend; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Current.
