Shirley A. (Hawkins) Langford, 86, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away at her residence on Monday, May 24, 2021.
Shirley was born on June 7, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Delcie (White) & Virgil A. Hawkins.
Shirley worked as a licensed practical nurse at Greenwood Village South in Greenwood, Indiana until her retirement in 1998.
Shirley was passionate about music and had a beautiful singing voice. She could often be heard singing her favorite songs. She was a loving mother and a wonderful grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with creating memories with her loved ones, Shirley enjoyed reading, completing crossword puzzles, shopping, and flowers.
Shirley is survived by her two children, Michael W. (Sharon) Langford of Indianapolis, IN and Christina Rowland of Greenwood, IN; her nine grandchildren, Sheila Kinnard, Sherry Lynch, Gary Lynch, Cory Rowland, Travis Rowland, Cheyenne Rowland, Shawnee Rowland, Todd Ashlock, and Tony Ashlock; her fourteen great-grandchildren, Haley Lynch, Nickolas Kinnard, Gracie Kinnard, Colby Whittemore, Shelby Sours, Jayden Lynch, Cooper Rowland, Quinn Johnson, Sophie Rowland, Scarlet Rowland, Addie Rowland, Kai Rowland, Colton Rowland, and Dalton Rowland.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest F. Langford, her daughter, Rebecca Lynch, her granddaughter, Amber Kates, her parents, Delcie & Virgil A. Hawkins, and her brother, Jack Hawkins.
