Shirley A. (Christensen) Fagan, 89, of Mendon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, in the Milford Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife to the late Robert K. Fagan, who died in 2020.
Shirley and Bob recently celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary on July 1st 2020.
Born in Worcester, Shirley graduated from Westboro High School in 1949 and was on the Women’s Basketball team. Upon graduating she married shortly after in July 1950. Bob and Shirley loved to travel around the country and take the boat out in their younger years. One of her favorite past times was hosting family and friends at their pool.
Shirley enjoyed sewing and knitting and was an avid reader and loved a good crossword puzzle. She and her sisters played cards twice a month and enjoyed going on cruises and to the casinos together. She was most happy when she was babysitting her grandchildren and later great grandchild Kassidy.
Shirley leaves behind three daughters; Kathy Schug and her husband Ric, of Colorado, Maureen Ames and her husband Albert, of Mendon and Valerie Fagan of Northbridge. She also leaves behind, three grandchildren; Heather Murray and her fiancé Joe Conti, of Blackstone, Jonathan Harris and his wife Sarah, of Bellingham, and Jenny Harris and her partner John Paul DiMuzio, of Bellingham; six great-grandchildren, Kassidy Murray of Blackstone, Dylan, Brooke, Declan, and Isla Harris of Bellingham, and Nico DiMuzio of Bellingham; her sisters Lillian Cathline of Dudley, Joyce Lloyd of Webster and her Brother in Law Kenneth Griffin of Connecticut; and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, Henry Christensen and Alice (Smith) Christensen Lloyd, her brother Henry Christensen, and her sisters, Beverly Jones, and Ann Griffin.
