Shirley Adeline (Robohm) Dodrill began her eternal life with God on May 21, 2019. She was 81 years old.

Shirley was born on November 18, 1937 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Shirley and her parents, Ruth and Leonard, older sister Patricia and younger brother Roger eventually settled in Englewood, Colorado.

Shirley attended and graduated from Englewood High School and enjoyed attending Grange Dances in Sedalia with her best girlfriends. On May 18, 1957, she married and began a life together with Eldon Fike Dodrill. Shirley and Eldon raised three children at their home in Northglenn; Randall Eldon, Waverly, and Valerie Ann.

Shirley made it her mission to turn a house into a cozy, loving home.

Shirley always had a joyful and resilient nature. She enjoyed vacationing, trips to the mountains, drives in the country, viewing animals in nature, wild birds, slot machines, gardening and laughing. Shirley often shared her garden vegetables with friends throughout the neighborhood.

Shirley was a very strong woman. Her husband Eldon passed away in 1999. She beat colon cancer, but developed Alzheimer’s dementia. Throughout her battle with Alzheimer’s, Shirley remained happy, cheerful, showed care towards others, made many new friends and was loved by her caretakers. Shirley’s inner strength and love of life through Jesus could not be diminished. She continued to be an intelligent, strong-willed, independent woman who was generous to hold your hand or give and hug and a smile.

Shirley is survived by her children Randall and Gayle (Jones), Waverly, and Valerie and Bill (Killen), her sister-in-law Doris Robohm and several nieces and nephews.
