Mrs. Shirlene Monroe Waldrop, 67, of Valley passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at her home of a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Waldrop is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Terry Waldrop; sister, Barbara (Lanell) Moore; brothers, Gene (Eva) Monroe and Gary (Lynn) Monroe; brother in law, Tim Waldrop; aunt, Francis Snowden; special friend, Helen LaFountaine; a host of nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James E. Monroe and Julia Edge Monroe; nephew, Timothy W. Granger.
Mrs. Waldrop was born on October 21, 1949 in Langdale, AL. She was always a loving person to her entire family and loved nothing better than to host Thanksgiving and Christmas each year at her home. She had a beautiful smile and a wonderful laugh. In spite of being sick, she always had a good spirit and loved a good joke.
