Shirleen Clare Frieman-Blackburn (nee Zagar), 85, of O’Fallon, IL passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born August 6, 1936, in Belleville, IL. Shirleen was a graduate of Belleville Township High School before beginning her career as an operator for AT&T/Illinois Bell. Shirleen was a member of various clubs and organizations, such as: St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Belleville, Order of the Eastern Star, Belleville Pioneer Club of Illinois Bell, and the Moose Lodge.
She also enjoyed traveling and book collecting. Shirleen was preceded in death by her parents; John and Sophie Zagar, and her first husband; Ronald L. Frieman. Shirleen is survived by her beloved husband; Richard Blackburn of O’Fallon, IL, five children; Kevin Frieman of High Ridge, MO, Karen Hansen of Hinkley, IL, Tim Frieman of Warsaw, MO, Keith Frieman of Norfolk, VA, and Kenneth Frieman of Mascoutah, IL; and five grandchildren; Joshua Brinson, Ryan Brinson, Kayla Brinson, Jordan Brinson, and Engel Katharina Frieman.
