Sister Shine Ester accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and joined First Baptist Church of Courtland where her membership remained until her death.

Mrs. Thompson-Banargent was a 1975 graduate of Courtland High School and worked at Wayne Farms for many years until her health failed.

Shine Ester was always a caring, giving, and joyful person. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing food. However, a stroke six years ago caused her disposition to change and she was no longer outgoing but more reserved and became a woman of few words.  Yet, every now and then you would see a glimpse of the “Old Shine” in something she would say or do.
