Sheryl Ann “Sherry” O’Connor Green, 60, of Mulberry, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2021, at the Richard L. Roudebush Veterans Administration Medical Center in Indianapolis.

She was born January 15, 1961, in Mount Holly, New Jersey to the late Robert Kenneth and Kathryn Emma (Bigelow) Margerum. She’s a member of the 1978 class of Rutherford High School in Panama City Florida and continued her education at Shasta College in Redding, CA where she was awarded her Associates Degree in Music in 1995. Sherry proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1979 to 1983 and received an honorable discharge.

Sherry loved music and was an accomplished musician. She expertly played the saxophone, clarinet, organ, piano, trumpet, and trombone. She was a member of the Crawfordsville and Frankfort Citizens Band, Byron A. Cox American Legion Post #72, Crawfordsville, and John A. Mortenson American Legion Post #221, Frankfort.

Sherry was colorful, vibrant, full of life, and always on the go.  She cherished her family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. She was always making memories with her loved ones and especially enjoyed family road trips, vacations, and supporting her grandchildren at their events. Sherry was the “go-to” person in the family and would always pick up the phone any time day or night. She was known for her sense of adventure and making sure she always lived life to its fullest.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jay Patrick Green Jr. of Mulberry; her 5 children, Lori C. (Andre) Tisson of Crawfordsville, Thomas N. (Sian Shelton) Comerford of Kirkland, Amy M. (Cassell Turner) Comerford of Thorntown, Mandy E. (Roger) Guzmán of Dayton, and Kathleen (Chris Toliver) McIlwain of Dayton; 13 grandchildren (Jonathan, Roberto, Thomas, Lily, Ethan, Mateo, Victoria, Elicea, Adrian, Jacob, RJ, Iris, Orlando); numerous step-children and step-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews (whom she loved and cared for deeply); 5 siblings, Larry Margerum, Bobbi Jean Litchfield, Debra Patterson, Robert Margerum Jr., and Susan Capul.

Along with her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by a husband, James D. O’Connor; 2 sisters, Sandy Herold and Wendy Guy.
