Sheryl Lynn Mezo, age 65, of Portage passed away on August 16, 2021, at home.
She was born September 29, 1955, in Herrin, Illinois to the late James and Shirley (Crossmann) Jarvis.
Sheryl lived for taking care of people—her number one being her grandchildren. She loved to support them by going to their sporting events and enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles with them. She enjoyed taking vacations with her family and sitting outside, drinking her coffee while watching the birds. Sheryl was a happy person and was always ready to laugh at a joke, even if she was the one being taunted (especially by her son-in-law, Sean).
Sheryl was preceded in death by her husband, Nobel “Gene” Mezo in 2012; brothers, Danny Jarvis, Bobby Jarvis, and Terry Keller; and sister, Brenda Pedigo.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Sean) Hamlin; sons, Kevin Jarvis and Gene Mezo; step-daughters, Rhonda (Bob) Epperly and Marsha (Randy) Schnare; step-sons, Greg (Mary) Mezo, Nobel “Jr.” (Renee) Mezo, Kevin Mezo, and David Mezo; sisters, Chrystal (Mike) Davis and Patsy (Greg) Alton; brothers, Tim (Zula) Jarvis, Randy Jarvis, and James (Robin) Jarvis; as well as a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
