Those left to honor Sherry’s memory are her husband, Dan Defenbaugh of Kellogg; parents, Richard and Shirley Mielke of Newton; 2 daughters, Kim (Sam) Batterson of Des Moines and Angela (Bob) Evans of Newton; her 2 sons, Joe Defenbaugh of Azle, Texas and Daniel (Ellen) Defenbaugh of Indianola; 6 grandchildren, Dylan, Drew, Faith, Kirsten, Torie, and Tyler and one grandchild on the way; her sister, Karen Wathen of Newton; and her 2 nieces, Danielle and Mercedes and nephew, Blake.
Sherry was a graduate of Newton High School in 1972. Sherry worked in Quality Control at Pyramid Plastics in Newton, retiring in 2007.
