Sherry D. Simmons, 69, of Cuyahoga Falls, departed this life to be with the Lord on March 15, 2021. She was surrounded by family, in her birthplace of Madison, Alabama, at the home of her daughter. She was a member of Word of His Grace Church. Sherry loved and appreciated life by living it fully and having a wonderful sense of humor. Her love for God was expressed through her love for family and especially her love for children. Sherry was generous with her time and treasures, whether someone needed a helping hand or a listening ear. She was generous with advice and honest in her opinions.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mildred Waddell, brother James Jr., grandson Laurence, and granddaughter Elizabeth Starcher. She is survived by her husband Alan Simmons, children Jeff Starcher, Patty Acker, Roger (Abby) Starcher, and Ashley Simmons. She will be missed by her 12 grandchildren; Dezirae, Chelsea, Brandon, Tyler, Jayden, Hannah, Savannah, Corbin, Ashley, Logan, and Aaliyah, and her 4 great grandchildren; Brielle, Hailey, James, and Silas. She is survived by siblings Carolyn Smith, Judy Board, Glenn (Jeannette) Waddell, Brenda (Karen) Waddell, Tammy (Kathy) Waddell, and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the Hospice of North Alabama for their compassionate care.
