Sherry A. (Allford) Collins, 76, of Fortville passed away March 11, 2012 at her home. She was born January 19, 1936 in Hancock County to the late Carl S. and Lucille (Burk) Allford and was a 1954 graduate of Fortville High School.
Sherry was a member of the Fortville Christian Church and an honorary retired member of Psi Iota Xi. She also owned and published the Fortville Community Shopper for over 25 years. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports, was an avid basketball fan – especially IU – and enjoyed attending Ball State softball games.
Sherry is survived by her husband Dale “Dick” Collins, whom she married September 5, 1957; daughter Jane (Michael) White; son Jeffery (Janet) Collins; grandchildren Alyssa (fiancée J.D. Hill) Collins and Jason Collins all of Fortville; brother Wayne (Carolyn) Allford of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her Aunt Mary Ginder.
