Sherman Elbert Faught, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Slidell, LA on October 3, 2015 surrounded by his loving family after a long, wonderful life of 90 years. He was born in New Orleans, LA on February 28, 1925 where he lived until moving to Slidell in 1986. Sherman is preceded in death by his parents, Sherman Elbert Faught, Sr. and Corinne Bozonier Faught. He was the cherished and devoted husband of Mary Boyer Faught for 47 years. Sherman was also preceded in death by his son John Joseph Faught, son-in-law Scott Ducatel (Julie), sister Margaret Graham (Bill), and brother Clayton “Jakie” Faught (Terry). He is survived by his children MaryAnn Winck (David), Stephen (Doreen), Sherman (Paula), James (Diana), David (Kim), and Julie Faught Ducatel. Sherman is also survived by 8 grandchildren: David Winck (Jessica), Amy Winck, Stacy Smith (Bradley), Stephen Faught (Brittany), Ramanda Lauga (James), Savanna Faught, Bailey Faught, and Peyton Faught and 5 great grandchildren: Eli and Audrey Winck, Connor and Landon Smith, and Laney Lauga. He is also survived by his sister, Wanna Shirer. Sherman graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School in 1942; he graduated with a BS in Chemistry from Louisiana State University in 1950. He volunteered to serve in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Sherman was a chemist at Kaiser Aluminum for 35 years and the US Department of Agriculture for 10 years. He was an active member of the Slidell Knights of Columbus 2732. Sherman was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes where he was a committed adorer of the Adoration Chapel.
