He was born February 13, 1931 to the late Eudora Honemond and Sherman Dunbar Plummer in Dickerson, Maryland. He is the younger of two sons.
Sherman was educated in the Montgomery County Public School System. He graduated from Lincoln Jr./Senior High School in Rockville, Maryland.
After graduating from high school, Sherman enlisted in the United States Army in 1949. He received an honorable discharge as PFC on August 25, 1954.
Upon returning home, Sherman worked for an auto parts store delivering auto parts. He often talked about driving the delivery truck.
Sherman decided to move to Silver Spring, Maryland in the eighties. ShortA ly after moving to Silver Spring, Sherman found his church home at GeorA gia Avenue Baptist Church. He fell in love with the people, the message and the activities at Georgia Avenue and was baptized June 6, 1984. SherA man became an active and faithful member until ill health, in the last few years, prevented him from participating as actively as desired. He was a deacon, a faithful member of the Inquirers Sunday School Class, the Men’s Group and the Sanctuary, Gospel and Men’s choirs.
Sherman loved to sing. He found joy and peace in singing. Everyone enA joyed his melodious singing. We will miss his solos in the choirs, as well as for special occasions. He loved the Lord and coming to church.
