Shenan Thompson, also known as “Bogart,” was born on February 6, 1966. He was the youngest of three siblings, born to the union of Mack and Irma Jean Thompson.

Shenan graduated from Cregier High School with many lifelong friends. Shenan grew up in an environment where it takes a village to raise a child.

Shenan accepted Christ at an early age. Later in his life, Shenan joined Greater St.

Shenan was the first point of contact at the Asbury Plaza, where he worked happily and grateful for the last seventeen years as Doorman Supervisor. Shenan greeted everyone with a Big Smile. Shenan duties included scheduling, signing in and out packages, monitoring CCTV, and surveillance of the tenants’ lobby, driveway, parking areas, and elevators. The tenants loved him and considered him to be their extended family. He would look out for their children because he watched many of them grow up. Shenan loved to work; he was a workaholic. He worked for multiple companies, such as Old Republic, UPS, and New World Van Line, to name a few.

Shenan was a very fast talker, and you had to keep up or shut up. Shenan famous words while he was mumbling was, “Is that Right,” especially if you yanked his chain; he would mumble, “hmm.”

Shenan was a loyal Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed smoking cigars at several of his favorite cigar lounges.

Shenan met the love of his life, Octavia, aka SWEET T, in high school – where they became high school sweethearts. As time passed, Shenen and Octavia ultimately reunited to later unite in holy matrimony.

Shenan’s loving mother, Irma Jean Thompson, preceded him in death.

Shenan departed his life on Thursday, November 10, 2022.

Shenan leaves to cherish his fondest memories: His loving wife and soulmate, Octavia; his two children, Brandon (Sherri) Thompson and Shayna Bolling; twelve grandchildren. His loving father, Mack Thompson, two siblings, Sharla Cheri (Joe) and Dwayne Thompson; one nephew, Dionte; aunts Juanda (Arthur) and Verlene; cousins Brandi and Parrish; and a host of family and friends, including a special friend (John).
