Shelli Roschell Farr, 60, of Belton passed away on December 28, 2019 after a crippling and infectious complication from Diabetes.
Shelli R. Farr was born on March 25, 1959 in Comanche, Texas to Richard and Priscilla Farr. Her father built bridges all over Central Texas so moving frequently was a way of life in her younger years. In 1966, her family settled down in Belton. Shelli’s senior year she graduated with honors in 1977 from Belton High School.
After researching careers, Shelli decided to go into Computer Programming at Temple College where she also graduated with honors. This along with a personality of conviction and character was quickly seen by Texas Instruments, Inc., at that time, located in Temple and where she met Sharon, her partner of 36 years. Through-0ut her career, Shelli worked as a Process Engineering Technician at T.I. until the plant closing in 1997. At that time she transferred to Selectron, which later became Flextronics Flex, in Austin. With Shelli’s many years of experience, came awards and promotions. Many times the engineers would come to Shelli for advice and information making her a valuable asset to the company.
Another life accomplishment was raising Sharon’s niece.
Shelli took after her parents and loved to go camping, fishing, hunting, and scuba diving when she was younger. When she got a little older, she enjoyed beading, looking for arrowheads and fossils, and painting rocks for “Belton Rocks.com”. Her most favorite place for vacation was at Port Aransas.
With Shelli’s adventurous quality, she loved telling ghost stories to her younger cousins. She always had a way of making you feel like you were right there in the story.
Shelli was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her partner, Sharon Abernethy, mother, Priscilla Farr, both of Belton. She is also survived by Ashley Turner of Temple and by the following cousins: Kelly Jackson of Opelika, Alabama, Kim Griffith and family of New Braunfels, Brent Remington and family of Bryan/College Station; DeDe Remington of Temple; T.J. Neystel and family of Bruceville/Eddy; Tori Bodnar and family of Moody; Keith Hilderbrand and family of Stephenville; and Keisha Smith and family of Meridian.
