Shelby Jean McMichael, age 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 12, 2021, at Brightmoore Hospice in Griffin, surrounded by family.
She was born on July 7, 1938, in Newnan, GA to the late William Lundy Taylor and Mary Ruth Davis Taylor. Shelby’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She absolutely loved large gatherings and yard selling. She enjoyed spending time feeding the birds and could identify pretty much all the ones that she came across. Shelby will be remembered as a good mother, grandmother, and friend to all that knew her. She will be dearly missed.
Along with her parents, Shelby is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil McMichael; daughter, Brenda Jean Ford and siblings, Mary Lucille O’Neal and Shirley Jaqueline Helton. She is survived by her children, Sheryl Ann Seals, Dale Keith McMichael, grandchildren, Marc Anthony Seals, Taylor McMichael, Tracey Joe Williams, Heather Fields, Kasey Harvill, and Stephanie Ford. She is also survived by her sisters, Virginia Smith, Annette Coggin, and her brother, Rudolph Taylor.
