Shelby Richardson Whitley, age 71, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital surrounded by family. She was born August 16, 1945 in Bowdon, GA to the late Ivor and Eslie Richardson. Shelby has been always quick to help others; caring for her family and friends was her highest priority. When not lending a hand to those in need, Shelby enjoyed being outdoors, spending time in her garden and her bird sanctuary. Shelby was also a very proud mother and grandmother and took true joy in her children’s and granddaughter’s accomplishments.
She is survived by her loving husband Alonza “Mack” Whitley, daughter Tina Partridge Blevins, son Eric Matthew Whitley, daughter-in-law Promise Rebekah Whitley, and granddaughter Kelly Elaine Blevins. She is also survived by sisters, Hazel Hosey and Juanita Brown and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Buford Richardson.
