Sheila M. Haggerty, age 93, of Plymouth, formerly of Newton, died Sunday, November 11, at the Life Care Center of Plymouth. She was the devoted wife of the late William J. Haggerty, Jr, who passed in 2006. Loving mother of William J. Haggerty III and his wife Susan of Dedham, Mary Lou Leonard and her husband William of Plymouth, Francis Haggerty of Falmouth, S. Jane Haggerty of Melrose, Paul Haggerty of Naples FL, Susan Carta and her husband Michael of Northborough, Christopher Haggerty and his wife Lisa of Shrewsbury, and Grace Haggerty of Lincoln. Sheila is also survived by her eight loving grandchildren. Born in Springfield MA on February 19, 1925, daughter of the late Joseph and Pauline (Caffrey) O’Sullivan. Sheila resided in Newton for 40 years where she raised her family. She spent many happy summers at Whitehorse Beach with her husband and family, and many warm winters in Florida with Bill when they retired. Sheila was a past president of the Faculty Wives at Boston College, and member of the Newton Women’s Club. She was very active with her church, St. Bonaventure’s Parish, where she was a member of the Parish Council and Rosary Group. Sheila loved to travel and play bridge. She was an avid reader and volunteered her time driving people to doctor’s appointments.
