Sheila Kemp, “MawMaw”, age 70, of Salado, TX passed away at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, TX on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. She was born on February 1, 1947, to the late Patrick John and Leila Youngson Jungman, and grew up in Florence, TX with her mother, great aunt and sister on the family farm. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Jungman Copeland. She later married Hulin P. (H.P.) Kemp on March 11, 2002.

Sheila worked many years at Frank’s Lakeview Inn, Doyle Phillip’s Steakhouse and Stagecoach Inn. She also owned a business in her earlier years, Florence Steak Emporium. In later years, Sheila and H.P. enjoyed going to the coast, eating out, shopping and adventuring.

Sheila loved her children and grandchildren more than anything in the world. She enjoyed spending time with them, always putting others above herself and meeting everyone else’s needs before her own. She was a selfless grandmother and enjoyed traveling to her grandchildren’s’ sporting events and school activities. Sheila also loved to spend time with her best friend, Marilyn Ragsdale, including going out to eat, garage-saling and shopping.

She is survived by her husband, Hulin P. Kemp; two sons from her first husband Verlon: Donald Haire and wife Tammy and their children Lauren and Logan; Alan Haire and wife Angie and their children Bailey, Hayden and Hutton. One nephew, Joe Lynn Copeland and his family.
