Sharron Kay Seaman, 84, of Des Moines, Iowa died Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Taylor House Hospice with her family by her side.
Sharron, the daughter of Ruby and Leon Murray, was born in Colfax on June 06, 1937. She grew up in Colfax/Newton and graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1955. Sharron met William in November 1954 at the Newton Roller Skating Rink, where he spent most of his time chasing her until she finally agreed to go out with him. William proposed in October of 1955 and they were married on February 3, 1956. Their union brought forth two loving sons, Douglas and Scott.
Sharron was a devoted mother and grandmother with a deep love for family. In her free time she enjoyed square dancing, camping with family, and going to casinos. She had a wonderful sense of humor and believed laughter was the best medicine. She adored her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Arizona held a special place in her heart, as she and William would travel and spend every winter there. Sharron was a wonderful soul and will be missed by many.
She is survived by her husband William Seaman, son, Scott (Kelley) Seaman, brother, Ronald Murray, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents Leon & Ruby Murray, son Douglas, granddaughter Elizabeth and her 5 sisters Phyllis Avitt, Marion Mikesell, Colleen Rasmussen, Donna Bauer and Gayle Thomas.
